2 pears, 1 apple, 1 banana, spinach, coconut water

 

This is my recipe for the perfect smoothie. I have this some mornings in the winter and most mornings in the summer. It relieves my anemic condition and fills me with a burst of energy. I know it sounds silly but, these foods in the form of a drink bring me joy; a giant mug of happiness that I whir together for my wellbeing.

  • 2 pears for sweetness and juice

  • 1 apple, make it green, for tartness and pulp

  • 1 banana for sugar and cream

  • spinach for color and vitamins (or kale)

  • and coconut water for a liquidy, balanced ph

Sometimes I add a big hunk of ginger and the juice of a whole lemon. This concoction is so fresh and spicy, I try to keep both of the former ingredients on hand but often find my supply depleted. You see, I also use ginger and lemon in hot water to begin each and every day.
