Grapefruit Essential Oil Benefits

Grapefruit essential oil promotes the appearance of clear, healthy, and smooth complexion. Both topically and internally, this oil is known for its cleansing and purifying properties. Additionally, it supports healthy digestion and metabolism.*

Plant Description

The Grapefruit plant, Citrus X paradisi, is a small perennial tree that grows to be 15 to 30 feet high with an equal spread. The leaves of the tree are a lively green color and are ovate in shape. These leaves have an obvious mid-vein down their center and can grow to be four inches long. The tree also produces fragrant, four-petaled flowers that are white in color. The fruit of the tree is grapefruit, which is a rounded fruit with a smooth, finely dotted peel. This Grapefruit essential oil is extracted from the peel, or rind, of this fruit.

Main Chemical Components: d-Limonene

The main chemical constituent of Grapefruit essential oil is d-limonene. Limonene is in the monoterpenes group and possesses strong uplifting aromatic characteristics. 

Sourcing

Grapefruit is a relatively recent addition to the citrus family. It was first documented in the Caribbean islands in the 1750s and is believed to be a natural cross breeding between the sweet orange and the pomelo.

Rosemary Essential Oil Benefits

Rosemary oil can be taken internally to help reduce occasional fatigue and nervous tension.* Rosemary oil is one of the best oils for hair, as it helps promote a healthy scalp and full, healthy-looking hair. Plant Description

A member of the mint family, Rosmarinus officinalis is a highly aromatic shrub. Ancient people like the Egyptians, Romans, Hebrews, and Greeks considered rosemary to be sacred, and it was often used by healers in these early cultures. Native to Mediterranean areas, this fragrant plant produces leaves from which Rosemary oil is extracted.

Chemistry of Rosemary Oil

Main Chemical Components: 1,8-Cineole, a-pinene, camphor

Rosemary includes the chemical constituents 1,8 Cineole and alpha pinene, which are generally known for their renewing properties. The chemical makeup of Rosemary oil contributes to its ability to repel insects and to affect mood. Pinene and camphor are the monoterpenes responsible for Rosemary oil’s ability to deter insects. These chemicals are also what make Rosemary oil so stimulating—allowing it to have enhancing effects on mood. Much like the oil’s uses, the chemical profile of Rosemary oil is extremely diverse.

Refreshing and herbaceous, the pleasant, pine-like aroma of Rosemary has been used to clear the mind for thousands of years. The Latin name for Rosemary is “dew of the sea,” and true to its name, rosemary grows wild on seashores throughout the Mediterranean.

We use Organic MCT Oil in this blend to increase the bioavailability of CBD.

Internally: MCT oils work to increase the benefits of CBD by increasing CBD’s bioavailability and allowing more CBD to reach the bloodstream.

Topically: Pure medium chain triglycerides contain naturally-occurring antioxidants and fatty acids to nourish and moisturize hair and skin. This oil relieves dry skin without a heavy, sticky, or greasy feel and boasts emollient, moisturizing and gentle benefits.
